Travertine colours

Every travertine ledger panel we make. Open a colour for photographs of a single panel, panels laid together, and the wall in a room.

Sizes

The same stone in three panel lengths. 6 × 24 covers ground fastest; 6 × 12 suits small surrounds and tight returns.

Why travertine for a ledger panel

Travertine splits with an open, slightly porous face that holds light softly, so a travertine wall reads warm and natural rather than hard. It is lighter in tone than most quartzites and slates, takes a sealer well, and has been used on walls for two thousand years.

Denizli travertine is dense for its kind and comes in a wide range of shades from the same region, which is why a buyer can order several colours in one container and know they will sit well side by side.

Where travertine ledger panels are used

Fireplaces and chimney breasts, TV and feature walls, kitchen and bar backsplashes, columns, reception desks, outdoor kitchens and garden walls. In climates with hard frosts, fix exterior panels with a mortar rated for outdoor use and seal them so water does not sit in the face.

Buying travertine ledger panels direct from the factory

Most travertine ledger panels on the US market are split in Turkey and pass through an importer and a distributor before they reach a yard. Buying from the factory removes a step: you choose the colours and sizes for your market, see samples first, and load a container that carries only what you sell.

Travertine mosaics

The same travertine as loose split face strips and tumbled mosaics, for walls where panels would repeat.

Questions about travertine ledger panels

Are travertine ledger panels real stone?

Yes. Each panel is strips of natural travertine, split on a guillotine so the face is the stone's own break, and bonded into a staggered unit. Nothing is cast or coloured.

What sizes do travertine ledger panels come in?

We make them in 6 × 24, 6 × 18 and 6 × 12 inch (15 × 60, 15 × 45 and 15 × 30 cm). 6 × 24 is the standard for walls and fireplaces.

Can travertine ledger panels be used outside?

Yes, on facades, garden walls and outdoor kitchens. Where winters are hard, use an exterior-rated mortar and seal the stone so water does not sit in the face and freeze.

Should travertine ledger panels be sealed?

Sealing with a penetrating sealer is recommended, especially outdoors, on backsplashes and around fireplaces, where water, grease or soot would otherwise settle in the texture.

Travertine or marble ledger panels?

Travertine is warmer, softer and more open in texture; marble breaks sharper and shows more crystal and contrast. We make both; our travertine vs marble guide compares them side by side.
